Most of the success stories we share on the Waterloo EDC blog are about the local industries, businesses and post-secondary institutions that continue to prove why Waterloo is an ideal location for business expansion. It’s rare that we talk about our own successes.
The release of our annual report, which re-caps our progress and successes from last year, is cause for a modest celebration, though – because it shines a light on all the work that’s involved in bringing growing businesses into our community and the collaboration within teams and organizations that make it happen.
At Waterloo EDC, our mission is to build a world-leading legacy of sustainable economic development, prosperity and diversity for Waterloo Region. It’s our focus every day. Our annual report illustrates the impact we’ve made on this front. It gives us something to be proud of, but it also serves as a yardstick to measure progress in the years to come.
But we won’t rest on our laurels. The last three years have been challenging and we now face new headwinds, including global social and economic uncertainty and unrest. With the support of our funders, stakeholders and community partners, we’ll remain focused on our goal of making it easy to invest in Waterloo.
