The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is currently undergoing a multi-year, $375+ million investment that began in 2017. Capable of landing an AGN-IV aircraft, YKF is 60% less expensive than YYZ (Toronto Pearson) for enplaned passenger fees. 3 million people live within a one hour drive of the airport. With a surplus of readily available land (200+ acres), the airport is expanding multiple runways to 15,000+ feet.
Waterloo is a key partner in the Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster, focusing on building the next-generation of manufacturing capabilities. It is one of 5 superclusters funded by the Government of Canada, with more than 130 participants - including many Waterloo companies, organizations and institutions.
